Colophon

This site runs on Brand OS — a single-operator engine I built for my own brand: content pipeline, trust CRM, booking, one action queue, one Postgres. Next.js, server-rendered from the same database the admin panel writes to. The site is not a separate product; it is the public face of that machine.

Type

Newsreader (variable, optical sizes) carries everything that means something; IBM Plex Sans carries the chrome at thirteen pixels. Cyrillic essays fall back to Georgia — a deliberate trade until the serif is upgraded.

Principles

• No stock photos. One disclosed exception: the About portrait is AI-generated from my likeness, deterministically toned — nothing about the face or figure was altered. Diagrams are drawn by hand.
• No cards, no gradients, no glow. Separation is whitespace and a one-pixel line.
• Dates everywhere, written out in words. A site should show its pulse.
• One conversion element per page, phrased like a sentence, not a button.
• Copper is reserved for the book. It works because there is little of it.

Changelog

• July 28, 2026Added a portrait to About — AI-generated from my likeness and disclosed as such; the no-AI-imagery rule became a disclosure rule. Honesty by disclosure, not by omission.
• July 28, 2026v2 — rebuilt as an editorial site after I rejected v1 the day it shipped: it looked like every AI-generated landing page. The redesign started from studying ten sites I actually respect.
• July 28, 2026v1 — the site went live on the apex domain, served by Brand OS.
